Letter from Santa Claus to a father

Hello, my dear friend Alexander! They say it`s hard to surprise a man, especially a father of a family burdened with his daily chores. Even if it comes to New year. But that`s what my profession is about – to surprise people and do good deeds - so I will try. If you didn`t guess yet, I am Santa Claus. You told your children about me. And possibly even I dressed up like me, having put a fake beard on when wanted to amuse the children. Of course they knew that the old man speaking in a deep voice is their daddy, but they don`t give out "a military secret" because they also like to make you happy. We don`t usually honor our fathers. And there`s no such medal as "Father Hero". And this is so unfair! Who if not a father can bring joy to the children with games and entertainments when their mother is busy?! You have already given the best gifts to yourself. It is love, trust and smiles of your children, respect of your relatives. These awards are more valuable than any medal, and they will never faint from everyday routine. They make such a warm feeling in the heart that even I, sitting in my cabin far in the north, feel this heat that could melt any ice. I wish you happiness in the coming year, inexhaustible energy, progress in work and in any business which you want to engage in. And also I wish you everything that will help you Alexander to remain the most remarkable father of the best family in the world. Happy New Year!
